A couple days ago I noticed a bump on the side of my Silver Molly. It is yellow/goldish in color, when you look at it closely you can see a couple of scales raised a bit. It doesn't like the bump is coming from inside the fish, it looks more like it's right on the surface. It doesn't seem to be getting worse, it looks like it's staying the same. I believe it started when I began to have Water problems. (Ammonia and Nitrite spike) Currently, the tank temp is 81 F, which it stays consistently at.
I tried to take a photo, but it's hard to get the camera to define something so small. At least you can get an idea of the area of the body it's on.

Anyone have any ideas about what this might be?

difficult to tell from that mate, post this in the emergency section and you'l be more likely to get accurate answers, maybe PM wilder.

fill in this form hun with the answers and i'll ask for you to be transferred to emergency section

Fish Symptoms (include full description including lesion, color, location, fish behavior): Bump on the side of my Silver Molly. It's yellow/gold in color. When you look closely, you can see the scales are raised a bit. Looks more like it's right on the surface rather than inside.

Her behavior seems normal to me, swimming about with the male Molly in my tank, healthy appetite, comes up to the front when she sees me.

Volume and Frequency of water changes: Recently been changing the water at least once a day, trying to correct Ammonia and Nitrite levels. With the exception of yesterday when I wasn't able to test or change any water. Volume of about 30-40%

Chemical Additives or Media in your tank: Prime water conditioner. Removes Chlorine, Chloramine, and Ammonia. Detoxifies Nitrite and Nitrate. Provides Slime Coat. (That's what the bottle says at least). Recently treated for what I thought might've been the beginning of Fin Rot. Used Fungus Cure brand. Put the carbon back in the filter 2 days ago and stopped treatment of that.

Tank inhabitants: One male Cheetah Molly. 2 African Dwarf Frogs.

Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration): New tank. New filter media (not cylced) New substrate, new all live plants.

Exposure to chemicals: None I am aware of.

Digital photo (include if possible):

Regarding test readings: It seems like no matter how many water changes I do, the Ammonia and Nitrite won't come down!!

i've sent a pm to another member whos really good with illnesses and treatments
so hopefully they will come and help you aswell

Is the lump hard or soft. If soft does it look like the lump is filled with puss.
Does the lump look smooth or look like a cauliflower. Sorry can't make much out in the pics.
Any signs of flicking and rubbing.
Check other fish for signs if golden patches, rusty coloured varnish, or yellow golden spots.
Turn tanks lights out and shine a torch on the fish.
Does the lump move.

The bump looks soft, I guess, when I turned out the light and look at it with the flashlight, it literally looks like a bump with the scales lifting off of it. It's more of flesh color.

No signs of flicking or rubbing. Nothing abnormal on the other Molly or the frogs.

And it definitely doesn't appear to me moving.

:/

Just wanted to check it wasn't velvet with it being a golden colour.
I would issolate the fish and try a bacterial med as if the lump bursts it can infect the tank.
Lumps that suddenly appear and are soft like filled with puss are usually bacterial.

 My male is going to be so sad when I take her away. Before I had her, he just did circles on one wall of the tank...

I have another 10 gallon tank, but I don't have a cycled filter. How should I set her up in there?

Can you take abit of mature sponge from main tank filter. Just cut some off with scissors.
Match ph and temp.
Plenty of aeration with meds.

The tanks not cycled.

You will have to do water changes then and just add the correct amount of med back to water removed.
