Ive got 2 Bumblebee gobies and was wondering what is the best food to feed them as they don't seem to be eating.

They're brackish water fish for starters which I assume you didn't know, as they're often mislabled freshwater and sold as such. That's probably why they will not eat.

Hi Everyone,

I bought two Bumblebee Gobies for my community tank about 4 months ago. I didn't realize when I purchased them that they were brackish. One died within days of buying him. The second has been in freshwater the entire time and is thriving.

I think the previous posts are correct that live bait will do the trick but it is possible to feed them frozen brine shrimp. If they will not accept frozen brine shrimp now, feed them live food till they are stronger. Then try switching from live to frozen every other day till they start to accept frozen. Shaking the frozen cube into the water current of your filter might trick them into thinking the dropping food is live. It took a month or two but now my Goby will pick at the frozen cube from my hand.

Good Luck, mouse

As with most brackish fish the bumblebee gobies appetites will increase when kept in brackish (salted) water and they become easier to feed with frozen foods. If your other fish allow then id recomend adding at least one tablespoon of salt per gallon of water.

All but the two bettas will be fine with the salt. The betta's may be able to handle 1 tbls per gallon but you will have to ask in the betta forum for advise on this as i have absolutely no experience in keeping bettas.
