bully male

Its a shame that the store gave you that information. In such a small tank I really couldn't see it working. I had a male plakat in a 25 gallon with 4 females by mistake as he was sold to me as a female.

Every morning my girls fins were getting more and more torn and I couldn't work out why. Well I saw him once rush out from behind the filter and take a chunk out of one of them and then dash back behind the filter. I posted a pic on here and was told it was a male plakat so I took him out and now he blows bubblenests and is happy on his own. The girls settled down better without him but of course they still argue between themselves

well he seems much happier now, ive taken him out and hes in a small tank on his own, theres no filter so have to see how it goes but got the heater sorted

discovering real problems setting tanks up at short notice here because natural water ph is so high! and i dont like adding to many more chemicals like pH down anyways all happy and wounds slowly healing hopefully!

My PH is very high also but I just leave it like it is and the fish usually adapt or are from similar waters if you get them locally.

Glad to hear he's settling down now he's on his own. How are the females?
