Just thought i would post a few pics of my first built from scratch stand. It's for my 30 gallon tank.
From start to finish it took me about 8 hours to build but it was the weekend so i was in no hurry.
It's framed up with 2x4s and covered with tongue and groove pine. I used 1x3 pine for the trim, and the corners have some 1/4x2 inch, fancy, double beveled, trim...i forget what they are called.
I ended up painting it black to match the tank and light i was planning to use, that and i just like black stands.
My total cost for the build was about $50. Pretty cheap and i could now make another much faster with what i learned.
