Building & then destroying

Does anybody else's betta do this? Patrick will be pretty busy building a nest, then after a while he'll destroy it with his fins by agitating the surface. He'll do nose dives from the top of the tank. He's pretty interesting to watch.

I know my betta will build a nest, then trhe next morning I'll wake up and there'll only be bits a pecies of his nest floating around the top. I've never watched him do it, but I guess he might be doing it while I sleep.

In my first unsuccesful spawn the same thing happen. The male would build a big bubblnest and then wreck and rebuild. When I checked on him, there were alot of small clumps of bubblnest everywhere.
