Bracing long tanks?

My 3.5 ft tank bows with out its plastic retainer. will the silicone on a cit of glass hold well???

I'm guessing if I wanted a 300cm x 50cm x 50cm tank I would need to use 10mm thick glass and reinforce the corners and the middle of the glass??
