bugs betta can eat

Some of my bettas like to eat bugs, like my brothers VT eat a moth that fell in his bowl, and his plakat ate a grasshoper.
But I dont want to feed anyof them bugs that they shouldnt be eating. It seems that they like to eat these insects more then theyre other foods. I tryed ants with one I had a while ago, but he never liked them. Is he just odd, or do they not like them?

well i know i feed my guppys baby earth worms all the time and they gobble them up, and im working on masquito larve in a pot outside my house because that is the guppys natural prey, maybe bettas enjoy these to?

we recently came across a rain water tide pool by the beach and found a huge nest of mosquito larvae which we proceeded to scoop into drink bottles. our fry went absolutely crazy for them, never seen anything like it to tell you the truth. it psyched them up so much that whole groups of the boys proceeded to start fighting each other. things did calm down after a while. it should be noted that the rain water was poured into the tank as well and the mineral enriched water could have been a factor.
