Hi there,

I have just set up and finished cycling a small (40Litre) tank at work, and yesterday went out and bought 2 fish, that looked nice , but which I knew nothing about - Buenos Aires Tetra
Brought them back to work and settled them in - they are psycho (all crazy and nipping each other etc). I know that I need to buy more tetras to make them more comfy in a mini-school.....

do I need to buy like...1-2 more BA tetra...or can I mix with another tetra species...
also...I was thinking of adding a bottom dweller...cory maybe?
what will go well in the tank?
and how many to buy??

Hi,

check out the profile for these fish http://www.fishforums.net/content/Characin...os-Aires-Tetra/ they are one of the larger tetra not really suited to such a small tank. If you go for corys try and find one of the smaller varieties, pygmy, hastatus, habrosus then you can have a bigger group. Corys need to be in groups of at least 3 but more is better. Ideally try try to get hold of some fish that stay small such as the many species of micro rasbora that are now available and rehome the ba tetras.

Emma :)
