there are a whole bunch of bubbles at the top of the tank and im not sure what they are from... i dont think they are from the filter because its a mini biowheel and if i have it up high enough to make bubbles fishy gets mad and flares at me lol he hates it to high... sorta like the temp... also im wondering what is going threw his mind at night... he hates it he flares any time its dark but if i dont turn off his light his tank gets to hot :( its just no fair... neways what do you think the bubbles could be from?

are you sure it's not a bubble nest? Your betta is probably blowing them  Since they're air breathers they often scatter bubbles along the surface, or they nest them in tight little bundles.

but he looks like hes eating them

thats what they look like... i gotta keep an eye on him though i took off the top to his tank and told him if he jumps hes gettin put back in... yes i talk to my betta leave me alone!

id get you a image from the side but i cant right now... fishy is being a little pain as usual... he wont let me near the tank with the cam right now without flaring grrr such a little hot head

we're all a little crazy and we talk to our bettas too  I can't see the pic though

Don't leave the lid off too long, he really might jump, they tend to disobey.

I right the picture a few time and nothing came up...

anyway, most fish won't hesitate to jump, no matter how big their tank is. If they feel danger, or that something is wong instincts take over, and they tell the fish to jump.

Take hatchet fish for example, they have a whole river system (Amazon) to swim in, but whenever they sense danger, or see an Arowana they don't swim away, they jump out of the water so it makes it harder for the Arowana to catch and eat them.

i thought they jumped to catch bugs? i suppose that too :)
four-surely you can find something to cover the tank with-like some books or a piece of cardboard or something. just make sure that you leave a tiny space for air exchange. i lost my favorite female to jumping and she was alone in a giant breeding tank!

They do jump to eat bugs when the water level rises and they can reach them.

just because there is nolid doesnt mean they are going to jump. having a lid is just a precautionary measure because they are known to occasionally jump.
