Hi all,
Our SW tank is currently cycling, I've been using the 'pure ammonia' method and things appear to be going well.

Ammonia has peaked and fallen and nitrite has followed suite. Almost a perfect match to the animated diagram Here

The substrate has started to give off small bubbles, one every 5-10 seconds, at various places in the tank. Could this be the bacteria getting jiggy :kana: with some Denitrification?

Or just bubbles :look:

probably just bubbles...sometimes your powerheads or pumps grab some air and shoot it in your tank, air gets trapped under liverock and they float up after a while :p

Could be as above....do you have a thick substrate....it IS possible that it is denitrification and nitrogen gas...but..if you are doing a DSB, it could mean there are dead anaerobic areas. Wait it out and watch what happens. SH
