bubble wall?

Goldfish and tropical fish have completely different requirements. Its like keeping a polar bear with a lion. Neither one would be too happy with it. Goldfish like colder water, colder water has more oxygen in it so the goldfish is having as much trouble breathing as a smoker running the marathon. Also goldfish produce a ton of waste that is making the water conditions a lot worse than most tropical fish like. Please try to get another tank for the goldfish, otherwise its just being cruel to it!

As to bubble walls, most tanks don't need them. A power filter provides enough movement on the surface of the water for oxygen exchange. Warm water (like in a tropical fish tank) can only hold so much oxygen, more bubbles doesn't always mean more oxygen. Bubble walls are basically only a visual effect ( not that there is anything wrong with that).

I have a bubble wall in my 46 gal tank, and I love the looks of it. It is so fun to watch the fish swim through it, kinda like they have their own hot tub. I think it also helps with "moving stuff" around in the tank, so it reaches the filter.

My mom has a bubble wall in her 55 gal tank, and there is a noticable difference in water clearity with it. She has it hid behind a big rock, so you can't see the wand.

As said above, it is mostly just a visual effect, but a very attractive one at that. Good Luck.

Just a quick note everyone. A bubble wall, or other types of air "toys" can raise you ph level. Just something to consider....cheers
