Bubba red escaped last night i think.
He must have wriggled out of the t/box he was in.
Can only think he got thru the gap between the box and sliding glass shelf.

This Morning he was skulking in the corner behind the big plant.

I have not been able to catch him, he is too fast - did not know bettas were very fast swimmers.

What can i do?????

Will Bleu Kill Him  :byebye:

Or can i Put in a divider , if so, will the canvas thing work.
Or can i use very thin acrylic sheeting as I have loads of that.
How many holes would be needed to provide adequate filtration.
I do have a few small air stone filters that I could put in.

So far this afternoon Bleu has not chased him, he is exploring the tank, but goes back to the plant for cover. :-(

Well, you could try to put a divider in the tank. Do you have 2 nets, that always works for me when Im trying to catch a fast fish. HTH.

Tiff

St.Chichlid...obviously it's a fish!

thanks, will try divider.
i will add a few fish to hi side for company.

catch bleu and put him in a container then corner bubba with the net or as a last resort lower the water level then catch

You could corner him and scoop him up. Do you have 2 nets? You can follow him with one net (I use my smallest net for this) then while he's swimming away, just put the other net (I use a bigger net - tis easier) infront of him and he *should* swim straight into it (fish are only so clever  ). Then just move him to where ever you want him.

Or, if Bleu is ignoring him, you could leave him there (keep an eye on them though - you wouldn't want an attack in the night). Although that wouldn't really be ideal, having 2 fighter fish in one tank...

Or you could put in a divider like freshwatergal suggested.

What was he living in before?

He was the Valentines beta I got. He was in a 3.5 ltr.

He is not very easy to catch. tank has sliding glass panels and sliding glass condesation panes, so will take a while to catch him, but may try again after ligths out when they are more peaceful.

I have asked and can't have another tank.

Thought about divider - no go - dad says no to me having any of his acrylic, and not allowed to set up the smaller 5 gallons. DAD uses them for displaying his Minature bottles in his Games Room. :grr: :grr: :grr:

May take him and use a large Glass Vase for him and keep him next to the PC. That will keep him plenty warm.

Bleu is ignoring him ATM, and concentrating on the Females. I think he is more concerned about him being competition and wants the females to like him better. 8)

thanks for the replies.

Have caught him now.
Looking at him, his fins are not that bad, a bit frayed.
He has no marks on him that i can see, so he may have been ok in the tank.
But have taken him out to be sure.
Have put him into the 2 Ltr Vase. 7"W by 20"H
Don't worry it is tall and wide, so he has lots of space.
He Is Flaring every time I Look at him

Just out of curiosity,

How big do Bettas Ventrals get?????

Bubbba's are Much longer than his body.

P.S Bubbas is doing fine, he is eating - gave him some bloodworm last night, and he is pooping as I type. . I have added a plant to the vase and he like resting on it.
