Browning Plant?

We have no data on the light, spectrum and intensity. We also do not know if any plant fertilizer is being used. The water is quite hazy, and you are silent cycling, but this info is part of the process. Stem plants need good light and nutrients. Nutrients will be next to zero in a new tank with no fish being fed.

The light that I use is the stock light of the Aqua One Lifestyle 52. It has a white light (RGB) and a blue light. I don’t know the intensity, but it says it is 13.6 watts? I use Flourish and Flourish Excel. Thanks!

The blue won't help as I previously suggested. Do you know the spectrum of the white light? The Kelvin number, or the CRI (colour rendering index) will tell us this.

You are silent cycling, so presumably you are not adding any artificial ammonia. This can weaken and even kill some plants. Excel can do the same, I would not use it. Flourish Comprehensive Supplement only is fine.

I don't know the Kelvin number or CRI of my light, but I will try to find out - and I will stop using Flourish Excel. Should I resume use once I have cycled my tank? Thanks

In my opinion, no. Excel is glutaraldehyde, just look that up and tell me you want it in a fish tank. I know, many use Excel, and say there is no issue, but I do not believe in subjecting my fish to disinfectants for no reason. And there is no reason, because yu do not need the so-called carbon.

Check the website of the manufacturer, the spectrum might be posted.

I can only find the wattage of the light (13.6), not the Kelvin or CRI. Here's the link to the manufacturer, maybe I just didn't notice it?

No, they don't, very helpful isn't it. Well, lets assume it is OK, they do have "red/bleu/green" mentioned, so may be fine. That is the mix in good plant light.
