ok so i bought a nameless coral dirt cheap with a cheap duncan and i am lost as to what it is.

it looks like very very small brown star polyps, when they close they go white and they seem to be attached to a mat that is anchored with a stem to the LR. i havnt got a pic as my phone is currently spammed.

still havnt the foggiest what this is but its amazing to watch, it changes from white to brown as the current ruffles the polyps.
it seems to be spreading like an STD, its only been in the tank since sunday and its already spreading (i think)

it looks like a very tiny brown star polyp that is white on the underside, when poked it closes up and turns white, all the polyps look to be attached to a crown thats attached to the LR via a stem. they are like an odd combo of a leather toadstool and star polyps.

phone comes tommorow i hope so i may have a piccy soon.

Photo..photo..photo. I try and tell all my marine newbs that, in addition to live rock, salt mix and a protein skimmer, that a digital camera should be on the list of necessary aquarium equipment. SH

Ok SH my phone is with me bow so......

at night or if touched each head/polyp retracts into a cauliflower shaped head.

I think I finally figured it out!!!
I was at work today and I saw something that looked so similar to it.

I took a picture on my phone but then i realized the quality sucks too much.
Anyways I think it may be a flowerpot (AKA Goniopora spp.), a short stemmed one. If so, good luck with him. Gonis are tough.
