One of my two clowns looks to be suffering from brooklynella? It's the smaller of the two and has had its top and bottom fins tight for a day or two suggesting stress, the white filmy parts have started to spread the last 12 hours or so but the other clown isn't marked at all and seems in perfect health. I'm going to try and fresh water dip one later but am not sure whether this will make matters worse, plus i'm terrible at catching them, I'm not sure i'll even be able to get them out? I'm trying to fudge together a QT tank with a small 50w heater but am worried about filtration.

Any advice is as usual most welcome!!!! :((

One of mine had it, it was a white film over the whole body even the eye, sort of like you were looking at the fish through a dirty piece of glass. I did a FW dip and it looked better instantly and in 2-3 days it was completely cleared up, I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Some people think it causes too much stress and have had bad experiences but my Clown just sat in the bucket perfectly still, calm as you like.
I did a 3 minute dip, all you need to do is match the temp of the RO dip to the tank water. As for catching them it is always easiest if you can get the net below them and drive them towards the surface IME.

if it is brook, formalin dips are best... Brook is a quick killer, if formalin isn't available to u i'll check my clownfish book when i get home for you as i can't remember the second best alternative offhand and i'm in class atm :p

This is where things get complicated, in total I'd say he's been showing the symptoms for about 7 days but in the last 24 hours they've got gradually worse. I'm starting to think it isn't brook and its more of a slime coat issue caused by stress. I caught the bigger clown having a right go at the stressed one so I'm starting to think thats all it is :(

Will check on him again when I get home tonight.

i'd rule out brook then and would recommend the fw dip instead for now.
