Hi all
My Other hlf an I took a trip to poton aquatic centre south west of England.
Great place for marine and tropical fish lots and I mean lots of staff parts accesories tanks fish spent 4 hours in there.
Anyway
We found 2 Peppered cory ( Iwill post pics later for you to confrim lol)

Thing is every lps we haveseen Cory are around 2cm long these boys are 2.5 incehs long.We love them but are woundering if they are a differenttype of Cory or there at their adult size.
They only cost £1.50 each!!!! whihc also worries me Ie the shop knows there near the end of there life -or did we just get a super bargain.

Our 2 other Cory swim withthe big bruisers very happily and the rest of the tank are all happy with them too.
just thought We would ask as wehave not seen cry this size

Thanks

will get pics up later

is the dorsal fin on the top big compared to a normal peppared?? if so you might have a long finned peppered corry.... same fish just bigger... hehe.... if it is so consider yourself lucky. here in aus we pay $13.00 for them......

Adult C. paleatus grow to 65 mm SL (Body length)males and 70 mm SL (Body length) females. So I would say that your new fish still have some growing to do. And just for the record these fish can live for anything up to 20 years.

Also you did not mention the girth. If they are also fat then they may be female breeders that were selected out for sale.

ok they are wide by comparison to the others
its hard to tell correctly but around 2.5inches long by 3/4 INCH WIDE
TOP fin is big but the whole fish is compared to the other ones
20 years thats great to know If we could keeop them that long we would be over the moon.

Really wounderfull to watch .
It was just interesting as most local fish shops only have small corys .

Anyone else been to porton aquatics??
