I had three bronze corys all were doing well with the other fish, then as my previos mail explains one has disapeared. The problem now is the two that are left are being biten by my tiger barbs they have never bothered them until now. There top fin is being biten away I have 6 tbs which i thought would be okay as they would fight with each other and leave the rest alone. So why all of a sudden have they started to nip the corys?

Thanks.

I had exactly the same problem with rosie barbs attacking my pepper cories, they had lived quite happily together for over two months then one day they just turned on the cories and kept nipping the top of their fins.

I have no idea what started the problem, the only thing I can think of is that the Rosie Barbs were really keen on eating the catfish pellets that I was using and maybe that started the conflict, in the end I went out and got another tank and moved the cories, the fins on one of them were really bad and one actually fell off but the good news is that the fins all grew back and they are so happy in their new home that they have spawned a couple of times and I now have 6 more baby cories to look after.

Hope this helps
