Broken Pump And Filter

hi all sorry if this question has already been asked but.........

when cleaning my tank this evening my pump/filter has broken and i cant seem to get it working, i need to know if my topical fish can survive the night without this pump as everywhere i have tried so far seem to be closed til the morning .

any help would be gratefull

They will be fine, I had exactly this type pf problem before....fish are more resilient than we give them credit!!! Just make sure to put your old filter media into your new filter to keep the bacteria alive. :)
 
Hi gaz new :)

It's not the fish you have to worry about as much as the beneficial bacteria. You can do good water changes to keep the fish safe, but the bacteria has to be kept wet and given some food and oxygen. You can do this by pouring water through it manually.

I'll move your thread over to the Hardware and DIY section. Maybe someone there can help you get your filter working again. :D

if you state the filter, and its problem. it may well be salvageable.
 
I've had the same problem! my filter and pump are from the fluval edge tank. I think it managed to run dry and now won't work! someone please help!
