Brittle Star Behavior?

Hi all sorry if this post is in the wrong place! I have had the usual legs hanging out from the LR but today after i did my water change about 5 or 6 stars came out from the rock with the lights on and started what i can only say was x rated! They gathered together and then started standing up individually and out from underneath them came white stuff (money shot? lol). They are a lot bigger than i was expecting! 4-5 inches at least (NO COMMENTS PLEASE LOL). Am i going to have loads of little stars appearing? My tank is not big (orca 550) is it ok to have so many in there and will i have to many when they grow bigger? I have no idea if i could ever remove them anyway as they have all gone back into the rock to sleep lol. Any help would be great! My tank has been running superbly for months and is around a year old now. They have been in the tank since i added all my LR at the start.

Sorry i dont konw to much about your question, however. First of all, well done on the dirtyness

Secondly, sounds to me like they have come out to spawn, good job mate! Time to google about starfish spawning Well brittlestar.

All very normal and the sign of a healthy tank - many will be eaten before getting to adult size, so no worries

Thanks for all the advice. What an amazing thing nature is, exactly why i run the tank in the first place.
