i went to the LFS yesterday and asked for an algae eater since they had no ottos he gave me a bristtle nose
i asked him if it would be suitable for my 10 gallon tank and he said it would be fine

i've come here to get a second opinion on it coz i'm afraid it might get too big and one of the rules were dun believe everything ur LFS says

Bristle nose pl*cos are excellent algae cleaners.. that much they were right about, but as to how big it will get, that depends on which bristlenose it is, as there are several and they vary in size.

can i also just ask whether my tank would be full at this point or can i still add more fish ? taking into account the expected length each fish will become

You're were already a little overstocked. If the "unknown" (can you describe?) is going to get bigger, you're well overstocked. If the bristlenose is one that gets bigger than 3" or so, you should pretty much go buy another tank.

Seriously, it probably wouldn't cost you much at all to upgrade to a 20g long and move your current inhabitants to it. You've got most of what you need already. And you'd have the 10g you could do something with!!! Think about it! NEW FISH!!! :hyper:

What?

I'm not hooked. I can quit anytime I want... :p

its got red fins and a silver body thats all i know its about as big as a zebra danio i'll take a pic of it and post it up

i'm planning on buying a 35g soon

btw i know what u mean lol i just finished cycling this 10 gallon 2 weeks ago and i want a bigger tank already :p

Yep, it never stops. Then you look at the empty corner of your house and think "A fish tank would look great there." :D

I also visited an LFS I just found and they have tons of tanks. I didn't know there were so many different sizes, from 10 gallon on up in increments of 5 gallons.
