Hello :D

I have just bought four bristlenose plecos. Is it ok to feed them lettuce leaves? I heard somewhere (I think on this forum) that they can eat it.

If so.... How do I prepare it so it is safe for them to eat? :dunno:

Thanks :)

Mine nibble at bloodworms too, I've boiled peas before and removed the skin before and both my bristlenoses have tucked in

I've never tried lettuce leaves though thinking that its too messy, but i might be wrong

They like munching on bogwood too

I feed mine lettuce all the time. All I do is wash it, then put it in the tank using a lettuce clip.
I also feed them cucumber, and algae wafers.

Ian.

Me too, to the above.

I get a lrage leaf and then weigh it down with a stone and wayhey!

I also give my fis cucumber, I push the seeds through with a stone and weigh it down. My clown loaches love that!! I think my plec eats it too although I have not tried it with my new plec.

I think I will tonight.

:fish: Blanched(pour boiling water over)lettuce,courgette
Boiled for 1-2 mins, brussel sprout, peas, broccolli
Raw, potatoe slice,cucumber and bloodworm
Mine love all of the above and have just presented me with 60+ babies to prove it :D
