The piccys have the same belly as ours has and the same shape mouth

not agressive at all (normally) they are a dosile fish unless they get teritorial.

unfortunatly though, your current tank is too small for him... a 4ft 50gal+ would be more the sort of size he'll need

yes I believe sailfins get to 18 inches. That is a sailfin in your sig isn't it. Anyway if it's a common pleco they grow to about the same size and are relatively peaceful as long as they have enough territory.

I might have to get Santa to bring me a bigger tank for Xmas! I think I have some time until it becomes urgent. If it gets bigger sooner than that my wedding anniversary is in July! I am not getting rid of the fish, if it is common and inexpensive it might get bumped off if I give it away. I don't mean to the people on here. Thanks for all your help, just shows you do the research and still get it wrong! PS My brother-in-law is a vet, he doesn't have a particular interest in fish but if the pleco maxs out bigger than 12 inches he might be able to help rehome it. I definitely wouldn't want a bigger tank than 50 UK gallons.

wow I wish I had a big enough tank for that type of pleco, mines only about 2.5 inches : ( Really want one of the big cool ones lol
