Will bristlenose plecos be safe with :
Penguin tetras
Black widow tetras
Glowlight tetras
Scissortail rasboras
Guppies
Bettas

Any fish they are not compatible with please say :)

Thanks M4R13Y

Cool was worried they would get their little bristles nipped

Will they be ok with shrimp ?

What fish are they generally not safe with ?

Thanks M4R13Y

It's not your current fish that the Bristlenose is incompatible with....it's your tank

At only 8g (30 litres) one Bristlnose would be enough to fully stock it, let alone with all the other fish already in there as they can grow up to 6".

Don't worry I will be getting it when I get my 96 litre tank .

Is it safe with shrimp because it is going to live in my new 96 l and when my shrimp tank ( current tank is being converted ) gets dirty I am gona pop him in there to give it a clean. He won't be in there for more than a few days.

Good or bad idea

Bad? Its going to stress him and all your other livestock out to keep moving him and he isnt going to just zip about and clean your tank for you... seems a bit pointless...

Though if you have rocks etc with algae on in your shrimp tank, you can move them over to your bigger tank to be cleaned if need be but shrimp tend to do a good job anyway.

Great idea will do that instead :good:

Are there any fish that they are really not compatible with ????

They are compatible with pretty much anything, with the obvious exception of predators.

96l is still not a big tank though, what kind of numbers do you have of the other fish?

A 96 litre tank is fine for a bristlenose Pleco and about 20 other fish

Sorry, that statement is very deluded. Are you really Dr Who, owning a tardis fish tank? Without knowing what all these 20 fish are (as your sig is horribly out of date), I would place money on this stocking needing in excess of 240l.

i will have 5 glowlights five penguin tetras 5 scissortails 4 black widow tetras and a bristlenose catfish

The problem with bristlenoses is that they are massive poop machines. I do actually keep a bristlenose in a 60 ltr tank, but it is a female (smaller than males), in an established tank with extra filtration, other tank mates very small and not very many- and frankly, it's not an ideal solution. A better idea would be to up the number of black skirt tetras (if you already have those) to at least 6.
