bristlenose breeding

Russ,

Looking at the link you've posted, the BN's I've just got for you, haven't got the verticle white 'seam' down their tail. They have however got a very feint white line across the top of the tail.

When they're less stressed, hopefully the colourings will come out a bit more.

At the mo they all look very pale. Stress I do beleive !!

ok cheers for the heads-up, i just won a 70 usg tank on ebay so space no longer a problem!!! :) will give tim a call and reserve me that other female!

Yeah its a great setup he has there, and really helpful too! They'll happily order stuff in for you, so far theyve ordered in black rubies and red-eye puffers on request, and hes keeping an eye out for peacock gobies as we speak!!

yeah thats more like the colouration on mine, a lighter mottled body and the male has the bright white spots

They'll be fine ;)

Had the little problem of 'un-hooking' one of the females from the net when I was putting her into the tank.... they came in a huuuge bag with loads of pooo in it, so decide to net them out rather than get all the poooo in my tank !! ;)

A dose of Stress Coat in order do ya think ?? ;)

No worries Chris, thought you might like the warning !! ;)

Saw the Red Eye Puffers in there actually !! ;)

If you've got the 70g, you might fancy having one of the 3 Common Plecs he's got in there at the mo.... they're about 12" though !!

Rodney!

Plecs + nets =

;)

I'm off to try and ID these better - if i can.

chris, does yours have the white at the 'end' of the tail or along the top?

a good question! he's quite shy so its difficult to get a good view sometimes but will try and take some pics over the weekend and post them next week

too slow with the white seams unfortunately, they all gone when i arrived earlier :( But he is going to put them on the list for next week so its not all bad!! :) Did come away with another red-eye puffer though :D

I think we have an ID on these now...

Hawing used the piccys AndyJ has sent me, and the trusty Aqualog

I think they are L180's

There is not a lot of pics on the web but the aqualog piccy look like a good match.

Russ,

Looking at the pic of the 'male' in the link you've posted, mine don't have anywhere near the bristles he has.

Other than they, they do look very similair.

Possibly I have only females then..... they all do have small bristles, but none have got the length or density of the little guy in the pic.

What's the common name for the L180's ? Starlight's?

If so, better watch out, as Sir Minion's 'little' one is now 12" :flex:

Hey folks... AndyJ dropped these little blighter at ours lastnight.

And after looking at tehm they do have the remains of their white 'seams' on their tails so it looks like they are white seams after all :)

I'll post some more piccys when they have settled back in
