Sleeping Somewhere. Or doing water changes. Or run
My male bnose, Dyson, has been chasing my female bnose, Electra, around the tank constantly since I got her (about 3 weeks ago)...she was showing no interest him (perhaps his bristles were too small or something  )....3 days ago, she started chasing him....the next day I fed them their algae tablet (which they normally fight over)....and only she came to eat it....he was nowhere to be seen. About 10 minutes later I saw his head poke out of his cave, for about a minute or so, then back in.

So he has now been in the same spot for about 2 days....occasionally sticking his head out but thats it....he hasn't come out for the algae tabs 2 days running....most unusual.

I have read that this is normal if they have spawned...that he will be too busy guarding and fanning the eggs to come out at all, even for food

I have been waiting for this to happen since I got her....you can imagine how excited I am!!!!! I am just wondering when I will see the fry  It will give the platy fry something else to play with!! :p

Unfortunately they can breed too often when they start to do it. I don't know about you, but here where I live, LFSs don't take bristlenoses so easily because there is already overpopulation of them. They are like rabbits...

Where I am 1inch bristlenoses sell like hot cakes. The tank emptied in a single weekend according to the lfs man. I think the fry come out first after about ten days. Congratulations :drink:

You should be able to see the eggs in the cave. They should be white coloured balls.

If they are white, they are unfertilized, and will most likely be eaten.
They should be orange if they are fertile.

Yes, they are orange eggs

I knew it was one of the colours, either orange or white. I picked the wrong one.
