Hi all

Ok I am looking at redesigning my 400 litre tank.

I have L144, Common Ancistrius, Sultan plec and clown plec.

At the moment I pretty much have plants that I know plecs do not touch, Vallis, Crypto's, Java Fern and Anubias. I have had enough of my Vallis and would like to have some large leaf plants, such as the Echinodorus.

What is the likelyhood that these plants will get eaten by the ancistrius and L144. Pretty sure the Sultan and clown will not eat them but not sure.

Thanks
Dave

In my experience, the answer is more than likely.
I have what was sold as a green spotted ancistrus and it has slowly but surely destroyed my echinodorus bleherae

Thanks for the information

Anyone else have any opinions? or recommend any other large plants, very bored with Vallis just looks a mess

You could work the other end of the equation and get some really fast growing plants that will out pace some of the “eatersâ€￾. I have Silver Dollars in with Balansae, Wendtii “Redâ€￾, Dwarf Subulata, Tall Subulata, Corkscrew Val, Anubias Petite, Anubias Barteri, Red Temple Plant, Wisteria, Lobelia small form... and also Bristlenose Plec, Rubbernose Plec and Chocolate Plec. The Wisteria seem to get the nibbles attention and it seems to shoot out new growth despite the munchies. The Silver Dollars like the new tips on the Corkscrew Val too, but it still grows faster than they can chew it down.
