Sea monkeys ARE brine shrimp, but they are hybridized brine shrimp bred to survive in the conditions such as is found in the average househole, in those small tanks they provide.
They are also bred to be larger at hatch and at adulthood.
Cost wise, they are a waste to get and feed to bettas. It's the equivelant to buying one potato for a nickel.
