Bricks In An Aquarium...?

I know, sounds odd but would a normal brick release anything in to the water?

Found them on a building site im currently working on, ther are square and hollow, i got 6 of them and put them together it makes an interesting tunnel... Im currently soaking them and nothing so far, just wondering if anyone knows anything about it?

Not a good idea to use bricks they disintigrate in the water I have used them in my turtle tanks.

I have used cinder blocks, nothing released into water, kinda rough though, but fish like exploring the many nooks and crannies in the maze.

I have actually seen some pretty decent scapes done with bricks. Let me know if you do pursue this. I would love to see pics.
