I have been looking through a few posts and a number of people appear to breed their fish. I believe that some fish have large numbers of fry - 50 - 100. Is the only purpose of breeding to produce cheap live food for larger fish. I have some platys and people breed them. If they have babies what would I do with them??

Well u can gorw ur platy fry to an inch and then give them to lfs and get store credits which is what i am going to do with the ones i dnt want! or u could feed them to a larger fish as a live treat!!! 
which in the futre i may do for culling reason but my livebearers do a pretty good job of geting rid of the deformed ones and few others.... 
ermmmm and u can keep them all if ur totally mad..... give them to a friend who has a tank....
