Is it possible for me to have a tank with only corydoras species and Bushymouth catfish?
And let them breed naturaly with no interferrence from me?

Is my tank to big/small for this? Its 125x50x50cm 85 gallons/320 liters.

I know this will probably reduce numbers of surviving youngsters, but i find that to be more interresting to observe..

If its possible, thats great!
If not, i'm still just gonna keep those type of fishs species in my tank.
So how should my tank look/behave?

Also, should my Filter/pump be placed so that it makes alot of bubbles and noise, or should i place it so that its alot of ''current'' in the tank with no splashing?
And should i at all have a strong ''current''?

I just removed the gravel in my tank 2 days ago with fine, beutifull sand.

Any ideas, thoughts, opinions, recommendations are welcome.

Hi,

My bristlenose plecs breed in my 400 litre tank but i don't get may fry surviving as there are loaches in there. I have loads of plants and bogwood and they breed in a hole in the bogwood. They have fry every 6 weeks or so. If you get a large groups of corys its possible they will breed mine only laid eggs once and something ate them.

I think it would look great if you had loads of corys in a tank but the top bit might look bare. You could get some hatchet fish to add interest to the top as their mouths face upwards so they would have difficulty eating fry unless they were at the surface.

Do a google search on breeding corydoras as there is loads of info out there. the site called Scotcat has a lot of info.

Yeah, i was perhaps thinking female bettas.
But, i still have time to find out, gonna check out lfs today, so i'll just see what i like.

Also, do you think it will be ok not to have a minor tank to make the ''children'' grow up in?
My main consern is that perhaps the fish doesnt feel safe to breed in a big tank.
Or will it be fine?
