my large head lumped male sajica had about 200 fry with my female jade eye, i realise they are simialr in looks, but after breeding them, keeping them both and seeing the babies, they are very diferent, the largest of the fry are about 1" now and all feeding well in their own seperate tank i got them with plenty of rocks to hide in and stuff, when i first put them in there i thought some would die, but since only 1 died and that was from hitting his head when going up the syhphon tubing.
mt first sucesfull fry raising and originaly i fed them on crushed fish food or newly hatched brine shrimp, now they eat crushed pellets and some spiriluna algae flake, they love flake.
just thought id let you know that i too have bred a sajica.

Easy breeders i think, although most cichlids are easily tank bred, they just get on with it. Interesting to watch the fry grow and to see how the parents look after them, at first my fry were housed with not only the parents but other cichlids and a few corys, the parents did a sterling job to keep away the other fish (including Green Terrors & Jack Dempseys), until i finally moved them into a growing tank. This was done mainly for the benefit of my larger cichlids as they were getting picked on by the Sajica parents. I mean who would have thought the normally peaceful Saj would be so aggressive during breeding and VERY protective over the fry, even more so than my GT's were when they were breeding.
