i have a 10 gallon tank set up but there are no fish in it.LOL. i would like to purchase a breeding pair of rams but is there something else i could put with them.etc clown loaches and some other things that would get in the way of there breeding. any suggestions?? thx

Well first off hi EditioN great to have you here  ... about your question though I think a 10 is too small for 2 rams maybe a 20 or a 30 would be better for them. But for a 10 here is a little list for what you can put in there..... A breeding pair of guppies a 2 female for every one male ratio bredding platies or swordtails and maybe a few cories that is only a small sample of what you could put in there... I have a question for you though.. do you know how to cycle a tank??? because if you don't there is a great pinned topic in the beginner's question section of this forum... HTH!!

Yes there is a great topic about cycling....and....you....can......find.....it....HERE!!!

As for breeding rams, I would agree that a 20 would be alot better....and having loaches....of really any kind in a breeding tank is not a good idea....they tend to like to barge their way in and eat all the yummy eggs :p

well thx for all your reply guys.So can someone give me some more info on cycle my tank? If i dont will it kill my 2 rams? thanks :byebye:

Hi EditioN :)

According to the dimensions you gave, you have a 15 US gallon tank.

You MUST cycle your tank. Your fish will not survive if you do not. Did you read the articles you were directed to? If you did, you understand that this means to cultivate the beneficial bacteria that will help rid your tank of ammonia and nitrite.

To learn more about this and to get help understanding the readings from your test kits, please ask questions in the Beginners forum. There are many people who will see it there and assist you.
