I had a male and female in a divided tank. The male was a failure at making a bubblenest, so I moved him out when I saw how big my other crowntail's bubblenest was. Anyways, minutes after moving the new guy in, the male and female started flaring at each other. This female has never flared before, not even when the other female betta I have harrassed her. Therefore, I was wondering what exactly this flaring could entail...

I was told that that sort of behaviour means she likes what she sees and that she isn't scared of him :)

Pretty sure thats what i remember lol

yea that pretty much was the determining factor for my spawns when i was breeding the fish, never had much success with the females that just hung out hideing, but that doesn't mean they wont spawn thogh.

That's good to hear... so now to get a sponge filter made, get a microworm culture, wait until the male makes another big nest, and then I can remove the divider. So much waiting. >.<
