I'm thinking of trying to breed bristle noses, I have a 18inch x 12inch tank, approx 55 litres spare at the moment will this be large enough?

Also, what size do they need to be before they will breed?

I have 2 different types of BN's, will they breed, or will I need to get a match?

Sorry for all the questions, but any other info such as water temp. and feeding would be appreciated.

what types of bnoses are they? mine have bred twice already and i didn't do anything special for the first time, for the second i got a pvc pipe for them and they bred in there. as far as feeding, i didn't do anything special, i just feed them cucumber/zuchini and they get algae/spirulina wafers and any other food the other fish don't get. for size, i don't know what size they need to be before breeding, but my male is about 4" and my female about 3". oh, and my water temp is about 78

what size is the tank?? Our 24"x12"x12" is 54ltrs.

Thats what we use as the breeding tank - but its not really big enough. We have uprdared the filter and its still struggling with the poop :D

It's roughly the same as that, not as long though but it holds about 5, 10 litre buckets. I've put 2 mini filters in it, one with a spray bar I reckon will be good at producing flow over the babies.
