Breeding Bn Plec Video. Spawning, Now Have Babys

The last few days i have noticed one of my male BN plecs has been out of his usual cave and moved to another one that he doesnt go in very often.
My female has got really fat over the last few weeks and looks very very gravid, she is only small and its very noticable. Anyway i sat there watching them tonight for a while and the male has been in the cave fanning and cleaning it and the female has been sat at the entrance fanning all the sand away.
They have both been flairing there fins at each other and what looks like puffing up as big as they can get

A few times she would sit right at the entrance and get chaced off by the male so i got my camera out on the off chance and managed to film this video of them



The female was in there for around five mins, the male was guarding the entrance so she couldnt get out. when she finally got out the male went mad fanning like crazy and removing all the sand from the cave so it was spotless. They have been at this for the last hour and she has constantly been in and out of the cave but never for longer than 5 mins or so.

Its early and all the lights are still on so im kind of suprised. Does this seem like spawning behaviour? How long will the female need to be trapped in there for for them to spawn

its sad i know but im so excited that they might finally be attemting to breed

still no sign of any eggs but they are still at it. female hanging about and going in and out of the cave with the male in there

i thought once she went in that was it, he was meant to trap her why would she be going back in over and over again and still hanging about

Congrats mate i know you have waited some time, the waiting game is always the worse period now you will be wondering what to do with all the little ones lol

good job i have some more tanks being prepared for breeding. just hope my L052's get the hang of it as well and start breeding for me

i now have little wrigglers in the back of the cave , male is doing a great job looking after them so far.

The L052 colony are now showing signs of breeding as well so fingers crossed.

Looks like you have quite a few, you'll have to add a picture when they start to venture out!

considering its only the second time they have spawned and the female is tiny, only 2.5 inches max, there are a lot of wriglers

about 15 have ventured out the cave so far and i lost cound at 20 in the cave, that was only in one corner

i want a breeding pair, are you selling the fry once theyve grown a little? lnbates would you sell any of your fry?

I wouldn't worry too much, gereally if its a first batch its to be expected that only a few survive if not any? but they will get back on track. Mine took four attempts before a sucessful batch. I now have 68 including parents lol. They have just spawned again so i have to move them over into my 125l to grow. As i have learnt you will soon be over run with them.

Try placing zuccini or cucumber near the entrance of the cave to promote growth and health. Give them a varied diet of muscles, prawns, zuccini, cucumber and algea wafers. Partial 10% water changes every 2 days to keep any readings low. Good luck
