i would love to breed bettas at one point but my mum wont let me get any more heaters/heat mat she says they cost to much.
but do you think if i put the betta fry in tubs and put them in the boiler room it would be of theres defenetly heat but the airs a bit funny so i was wonderin would they be ok in there

If there's fumes in the air in there then it's probably not a good idea as they'll be breathing it in. If not then pop some jars of water in there with thermometers to see what the temp of the water gets to.

Might not be the best place then. Bearing in mind that the fry are quite delicate.

unless you get a big tank, devide it the same size as jars - nice little project.

and in the middle of the tank put a big air stone or somthing to create oxygen.

I had my bettas in the basement for a while. then one day the furnace backed up and killed all the fry and many of the adults. if the air has a funk then it can still make the bettas ill.

They way iv done it is to get hold of a large tray or somthing that will hold water.

I found a large tray, about 4 foot by 3, then iv made a wooden frame the same size, lined it with plastic so that too will hold water.

Filled them upwith water, and put a heater in there to heat the water, then place your jars in them. The heated water eventually heats up the water in the jatrs then. Iv got a thometer for it which i move around to monitor it, and they seem to all be a good temp! It's working well.

If you get a really big tray or somthing to hold the water, you could run them all just off the one heater.

Iv had to do two bc iv got 65 fry! Would of been so much easier with ust 20 or so but hey, thats the way things go i suppose lol.
