Yesterday I went to bed after feeding my discus before there lights out, and the brazillian sword i have looked a little weird I must say the buds on it looked bigger, but I never thaught I would wake up to it fully bloomed today, I must say wow this is an experience most don't get to see or experience and felt I should share with everyone the success of my wife and I to get this plant to flower, although we never planned on this sword plant ever flowering as we didn't have much success with an amazon sword, I am guessing this means I have a successful planted aquarium besides running into algue issues like alot I must say even with the problems this makes up for all the issues being combated to keep a planted aquarium going. I have included some pictures for your viewing pleasure.

What I have noticed so far this has bloomed early in the morning before lights on, so what I am saying is the flower opened up before lights on, after lights on about 3 hours into the day it is fully open with a wide view now, as far as the researched I have done it will only flower once, the success of this plant is without using root tabs only co2 ballanced to near 30ppm with homebrew ferts (E.I. Dosage customized a little bit from what are tables show on this forum) I have also taken my anubias plant and trimmed the heck out of it almost naked it has plenty of new growth and now seems to be the season should see a flower pop out of no where soon for that plant if everything stays balanced in the aquarium.

My Goals are to get (Anubias, Wisteria, and some of the steam plants to flower) Just a matter of time basically, although the brazillian sword was never a plan on getting to flower only because i never had success with an Amazon Sword to flower, although I have gotten them to give off little plants(Assumin the brazillian will self polinate I think is the fancy word and should creat baby plants if I am right

very nice, I am waiting for my tiger lotus/lily to send a bud and bloom, I can dream :).

So did you get any nice fragrance wafting out of this flower? or they just flowered up (i think just flowered)?

.
Dreams can always come true, thats a very hard plant to get to flower in an aquarium so I have heard although it does happen from time to time

Don't really know I don't have a sence of smell, and my wifes sinuses are all stuffed up maybe because of this blooming hehe, I just opened the lid to feed the discus and seen it flowered, thats what those little red pebbles are on the surface its discus food

I know its rare to see an Amazon Sword flower usually gives off daughter plants, but for a brazillian sword I can't even find anything on the internet about it actually blooming, especially these kind of flowers (these flowers look very simular to amazon flowers, but are quite different in apperence up close)

I have had shoots from mine, but never flowered. Looks ace!

Ya I know what you mean on the shoots, we had a shoot on it earlier, grew halfway and disappeared, then this one showed up looking very strong and thick and boom all of a sudden flowers, kinda shocking to see at first and is a big wow when you actually process it.
