Boyfriend Has Said I Can Have A Betta At His House!

Only thing is, now you've gone and announced to every one what you plan to do, you'd better keep your boyfriend's mum from going on this site!!

i am on this site muh hahaha lol

lol...you kept the 100 gallon tank well hidden then... do we have a basement I don't know about? :shifty:

And yes I may have announced it...but if I'm not allowed a tank I think we can all safely assume she doesn't like fish.
I bet I'd win her around with the gorgeous butterfly half moon or rose tail boy I was eventually going to get

well she didnt say anything about a very over sized heated filtered and lit 5 gallon vase with some plants in and a betta. :shifty:

and who told you about the base ment

If I put enough plants in I could claim I didn't notice him in the bag... I just popped the plants in innocently enough and there he was. Not my fault...and look at that cute grumpy little face of his. hehe.

I had a betta once before, he was a lovely healthy little thing. Really was genuinely a grumpy sod tho. I mean on top of the upturned mouth that makes them look a bit grumpy...he frowned. I swear it.

ha lol just put the tank some where she wont see and when she comes round have a disquise for it like a fake shopping bags lol

Nagging really does work.
I'm a military fiance, and I blame it on the fact that he's always gone also!

It works wonders! : O

... Now we have 16.

Fish or tanks? lol.

And however excited I am, I don't think I'll be getting a betta actually.
Not for AGES anyways.
Instead I am setting up a small plastic tank with two crystal red shrimp
I'm going to take them to uni with me and once I've ironed out the kinks, like what to do during uni holidays when I'm at home.
THEN I'll being going out to buy myself a new baby boy...as opposed to the silly two legged thing I call a boyfriend. lol (I love him really)

ps: I'll be making myself a sponge filter in the coming days, wish me luck!
bettas :D so tanks.
I took down my divided one... It was insane trying to keep the pH levels at a norm.
: D

We also have a 100 gal set up in the green room for his albino oscar and pleco. And a couple of ten GALS for my guppies, and 29 GAL for our goldfish.

He doesn't bother anymore. Haha. :]

And best of luck with the sponge filter! :good:

@heygetsmart

I blamed the army hubby for not being home too...lol. ^_^ got me a ....well.... A LOT of fish and tanks lol. :flowers:

last time he came home he walked in with a buddy with a brand new 180g lol
Haha yes!! He is in infantry. So it makes it a bit difficult- We're planning on getting married at some point... Maybe after I get my degree.

But all I know is that I plan on having one of my bettas up at the altar with me!!! :shifty:

Hi, Curiosity101,
have you ever considered the fact that you can alwys get a new prospective mother-in-law, (and it seems you'd better, at least I certainly would,) but that if you ever miss out on a good deal for a tank, that particular chance is gone forever?
Priorities are sooo important...

You make a good point...bit attached to the boyfriend tho!
He's anti-dog and mildly anti-fish (I think he's jealous more than actually anti-fish)
lol.

Have you considered hypnosis?
Can you borrow an old-fashioned pocket watch?
Or you could try sleep-teaching - make a recording about how much he wants to dog your every footstep and fulfill your every little fish and play it next to his ear every night for a few weeks.
If it works, let me know and I'll try it - my parents actually think I have enough tanks now and don't need anymore, absolute insanity, I'm afraid...
