I have a 20gL tank with a convict, and I wanted to add somemore fish. Originally it was suggested that I get either barbs or tetras since convicts generally dwell at the bottom of the tank. But I don't think I've ever seen my convict near the bottom of the tank except during tank cleaning. I have tons of little caves in rock formations in the tank. This convict is a very, very mean one, but the only fish that have ever survived being in the same tank were a yoyo loach and a kuhli loach. In fact, the yoyo loach actually picked on the convict a little too much. It was pretty funny to watch...whenever the convict wasn't facing the yoyo, theyoyo would come up from behind him, bit his tail, then swim right back under some rocks. He was too fast for the con. So the con would give up, turn back around, and the yoyo would go right for him again. Never a single injury on the yoyo.

I know yoyos and striatas are very different loaches since I have both, but I was thinking striatas would go well with the con since they're fast, but not really mean (now that the yoyo lives with the striatas he chases them around all day), and also can easily hide under rocks if the need to.

I'd get 3. I'm also adding a rubberlip pleco to this tank.

Does this sound like a reasonable idea or am I just kidding myself?
