Be aware that skunks are known to be a lot more aggressive than other botia-type loaches. I have watched them in the petstore and they can be downright mean. They make fish much larger than themselves back off. Kubotai are more peaceful, and would be a better choice, in my opinion. The tank size is perfect for them. If you see rostrata or striata available, they would also be good choices.
Just to deviate slightly from Loaches to Cats, theres an interesting article at
http/www.scotcat.com/articles/article24.htm
where cats in lake Tanganika manage to slip in their own eggs when mouthbrooding cichlids are spawning!
I've gone for Jack Dempsey cichlids rather than the dwarf cichlids I've mentioned previously which are quite robust. Also I have two of these cats Synodontis multipunctatus which look good but following some reading I now realise they are more suited to a hard water Tanganika or Malawi cichlid setup, Synodontis angelicus would have been better to go with the Dempsey cichlids. I'm also still keen on getting some skunk loaches as the dempseys can take care of themselves, even though they are juviniles. Also some bristle nose ancistruc cats will be good for cleaning the glass and some rainbows or congo tetras for the upper layers. Thats all that will fit.
