:-( im sad...
My first fish died (akira) not long after i got her because we had a pwer outage and i couldnt keep her warm.. She use to come up to the top of the bowel and give my kisses on my hands, when i would come home from work and wouldnt let anyone else feed her..
Then aryanna died but i have no idea why....
She wouldnt eat for like 2 days and would stay at the bottom of the bowl and woudnt move...

But if i where to go near the bowl the fish was swim up with remarkable speed and go around the top of the bowl as if he was hover craft and over on top of the water around and around.. as if he appeard to be going crazy with rage or trying to attack or maybe iven get the speed enough to jump outta of the bowl! :/
Then he would sink the bottom and stay there..
He did this for a bout 2 days...

So I decided perhaps he was sick obviouly so i kept an intence watch on him..
Thye next day he could barely move and ended up floating in a weird position..
IN the 1 gallon bowl he was floating as if he was standing up like a person, his head closest to the top and his fins closest to the bottom..
At that point i decided to bring him to a smaller cup, but he was so week that we could barely get him in the net because without his force he floats away...

Then he just stopped moving and he didnt move and there was no sign of life at all.. So we said our good bye and let him go to heaven..
BUt the thing is besides what i had mentioned there was no color change , he still remained vibrant up until his death unlike my other fish who became a dreary brown when she was vibrant orange..
Anyone know what happened?
-_-

i miss u my bebies.......

aaawwww, so sorry
Sounds like swim bladder, I'm not sure what causes it though :/

How do u get rid of that , for furture reference?
and
How come we was swimming so fast at the top, what was wrong... was he trying to stay afloat...
I just need to know for grieving purposes :-(

Most fish diseases are caused by contamination of the water, so the real answer is to keep the water clean. A bowl is very difficult to keep clean and stable so the best solution would be to get a small tank with a built-in filter, which you could then cycle. Follow the link in my sig for further information.

I'm sorry to hear of your betas demise. There are some questions that if you could answer, then we might find out what the problem is. Do you use a water dechlorinator? Were they in a small bowl or tank? Unless you live in a very cold climate, I don't think that a power shortage would kill a beta. They are very hardy and can live in unheated water. As AA says, problems with the water are most probably the cause of the deaths and once they are cleared up, then you shouldn't have any more deaths.
