boring fish

Is your golden algae eater a Chinese Algae eater? If it is, return him and get a couple of ottos instead. CAE's have a tendency to get very nasty when they get big. They also like to suck on some fish causing some damage to the slime coat of the victim. Return the mollies and get the zebra danios - you should then see some action in the tank.

I second gadazobe's recommendation of danios. I've got 3 long finned danios and not only are they extremely active but they are also quite pretty. They are also the piggies of my tank gobbling up all top floating food very quickly.

when i said more activity i meant some faster fish or more playful ones.i would never put aggressive fish in my community tank.its just it does not seem like my fish moves around very much and my tank is cycled and my params are ideal.
I wasn't referring to you with my post FYI, but the others who were making the suggestions.

The Danios suggested are good. They're fast and active. I can attest to that. So are Neons. I used to work at a fish shop and those were among the hardest ones to catch because they're so fast.

Probably not what you're looking for, but ...

If you put a bunch (meaning, 'one group', not 'a lot' :)) of hornwort (Ceratophyllum submersum) in your tank, chances are good that the livebearers will nibble on it quite frequently.

I find a good treasure chest that opens and closes periodically with bubbles very exciting and I have heard that you can get clams that do the same thing.

 Sorry, couldn't resist.

Seriously, I would go with the danios if you have room. I have a group of 9 and they are always chasing each other, darting in and out of the bogwood and plants.
