Here's a picture of my 29 gallon tank. It's been the same way for the longest time. Can anyone give me advice as to sprucing it up, or does it look fine the way it is? Is it hard to reposition plants? I'm just one that gets bored with something easily and likes to change things. It's looked this way for some time now and I'd like a change. :/

Hi
Looking good IMO :good:

But if you fancy a change how about some natural coloured gravel, or some silica sand with a few pebbles.

Also I think a black background looks good, you can paint the back of your tank using a black matt colour, apply with a small roller, or use the plastic stuff on a roll from the LFS.

Really enhances the colours of the fish and plants ;)

Your plants look great, really healthy :good:

The layout is generally ok, but i do think the substrate is a bit bright.

I would put a more natural darker substrate in, make the fish feel more secure too. Perhaps a few more ornaments, rocks etc. I would just give it a more natural, river like feel.

Psst... setup a 180 gallon marine tank...

tank looks great :good: but like other people are sayin, i'd probably go for the natural look too.
did you do anything special to your plants to make them that healthy? thats a serious question btw lol its just mine always die! ive even managed to kill java fern in the past :look:

The positioning of everything looks nice, the blue gravel with the blue background is too many cool colors. The only warm color is the driftwood. This is where changing to a natural gravel will balance it out, browns & tans are warmer colors.

ok maybe shuffle your plants around if you move that big plant on the left back and pull what i think i can see to be smaller plants in front of and do the same on the right and taaa daaaa bigger tank! or at least it will appear so

The easiest way of changing it without too mush expense or hassle would be to go with a black background first. You will be amazed at how nice your plants and fish look against a black background. I would then change the gravel to either a nice natural small gravel or sand. Your tank will look totally different! :good:
