Boraras Maculatus

I think they'd probably be fine, but I just have some vague reservations about people equating small fish with nano tank suitability (and I say that as someone with 3 nano tanks). I just like to give my fish enough swimming room to display their natural behaviours, and the little rasboras can really zip about given the space.

yeah i know what you mean, i think i'll give them a crack and see how it goes, my 90 litre isnt really doing much so if i think they look cramped i'll chuck them in there and build it up around smaller fish species, which is the plan for the summer anyway. Leaving work early to go get them \o/ :D

Well i got 10 in the end, and 3 Red Honey Gouramis

Maculatus are sooooooooooooo small its unreal. I'm pretty sure they are juvies anyway, but will be interesting to see them grow. Even the Orange shrimp are bigger than them!

Aww, bless them :D To be honest I wouldn't bet on them growing much more than that - I have some brigittae/merah that are definitely adult size and they're still smaller than a fully-grown cherry shrimp!

Haha, I know, soooo tiny, definitely true micro fish :D The only issue is if you're anything like me and have them in a heavily planted tank you'll constantly be trying to count the little buggers to see if they're all still there, which is pretty much an impossible task.

B. micros 10-13mm
B. urophthalmoides 12-16mm
B. brigittae 15-20mm
B. merah 15-20mm
B. naevus 15-20mm
B. maculatus 20-25mm

The maculatus are giants :p

Bleh, two being chowed down on by the shrimp tonight, i had read they are very fragile so not unexpected. I floated them for 2 hours and added water during too! Hopefully the 8 left over will be alright but if they all peg it, i'm going looking for Boraras brigittae as planned xD

Yeah i would imagine so :D I scooped one out but left one for th shrimp, they seemed quite happy with fish for dinner.
