Well its been 2 days sinced they started swimming. I have been doing water change every 2 days and feeding them with powder fry food.

The numbers of fry have decreased quite alot from yesterday to today which is a shame but i dont have my hopes for any of them surviving more than a week.

I was hoping me mum would let me get another tank where i could raise the fry because she was more excited than me when she saw them all swimming lol.
However she still wont let me which is crap. :(

Oh what a bummer (on not getting a grow out tank) - but congrats ! look forward to seeing their progress :)

Well all the fry have died or have been eaten now.

Everything is back to normal, male always chasing the female again....

5 July

When i switched the lights on this evening i was a bit surprised to see another batch eggs layed on the slate. :D :D

The funny thing is, this time it is that the male that has taken up the job of totally looking after the eggs and the female left on her own. (Last time it was the other way round)

I will not be able to try and raise them this time because it will roughly this time next week when they become free swimming and i will be on holiday then :(

My mate said that i can have his 10-15 gallon tank if i wanted to raise them which is cool because it means i dont have to spend any money. I know the tank is a bit on the small side for raiisng a whole batch of fry but its much cheaper than spending over 100 quid for a larger tank/stand.

Edit: i will try and get a pic of the eggs soon.

Here are some pics for the time being of how the male has changed since i broguht him.

Male when i first got him :)

They grow upto around 8-10cm/3inches roughly.

Females slightly smaller than the males

I'm very sorry for your loss. :rip:

That was a very exiting and heady string. I hope you are able to resolve your problems. It occurs to me that I am going to face the same dilema in the future. Although I'm not really interested in breeding, I assume I will get emotionally involved with the parents and fry when my cockatoos breed.
