hi all,

silly question time but why do bolivian rams ram each other?

i have a pair which i have had from very very small and ive had them couple of months now so they are still very young.

they seam to be ramming each other more and more and a couple of times they have locked at the mouths for 5-10 seconds whilst shaking each other? to watch you would not say that its nasty or fighting as they seam happy together and surely its not breading as they must be too little young for that!!

Locking lips and shaking is the way that fish fight each other, it could be that they are sparing with each other as they mature to discover who is the dominant fish. Do you know if they are male or females? If they are both males then you might have to think about seperating them from each other as they can be quite agressive with each other. How big is your tank?

think they are to small to tell what sex yet.am i right in saying that to tell apart you look at belly shape, flat bottomed on males and rounded on females?

my tanks is 125lt
