I'm almost near what I want my community stocking to be and my final addition will be a pair of Bolivian Rams.

However, I'd like to know if these are compatible with my dwarf gourami. Will they bully him or are they likely to leave him alone?

Alright for some :)

Yer the size is fine. I don't see you having a prob with them

Only time you are likely to get problems is if you get a breeding pair of rams. if you do then hope that they lay their eggs at the opposite end of the tank the Gourami thinks belongs to him or their will be punch ups galore!!

I give my Gouramis floating plants they seem to spend 90% of their time tending to their nests. Something to consider maybe?

Should be fine as they both spend most of the time in different parts of the tank. The Gourami the surface and the Rams amongst the bottom of the tank.

Well this is the thing, my lfs offers pairs of Rams (seperates them from the Ram tank once they form a pair), so I imagine that they will breed at some point.

Yeah, mine spends most of his time at the bottom because he likes the leaf cover of the fake plants.

What plants do you have floating? I've tried vallis recently and it's not going too well, so dont want to add a floating plant that's diffiult to maintain (I'm not adding ferts/CO2). All the plastic floating onces I've seen would cover the entire tank surface.

Amazon frogbit but they also like riccia which floats in a big clump. Funny because one of them has more than the other, so he sneaks across when the other one isn't looking and nicks a gob full of riccia hehehe. Always gets caught though!
