What is the easiest way to determine the sex of a Bolivian Ram? It seems to be rather difficult!

Females have less colour and a more of a rounder dorsal fin and short ray at the front of the dorsal(top) fin
While Males have more colour, and longer fins

To add to dwarf dude's post:

Although finnage and colour can be used to sex m. altispinosus, it is not always reliable. In most cases the only real confirmation you will get is when you have fry!!

Yes, confirming all I have read. I think I have a pair judging from the dorsal fin, but only time will tell....
