Hi, I am trying to get hold of huge pieces (2'x 2' min) of bogwood. I know they exist but where could I get some from? Also does it matter what kind of wood is used, and is it possible to "cure" wood at home for use in tanks? Cheers!

I'd say go down to your local woods! I picked up a massive dead branch close to 3' had it in my tank almost a year looks pretty good too!

I'd be very careful picking up wood from outdoors, some woods can give of toxic substances, they can also be covered in pesticedes and other pollutants from farms, roads etc. Make sure any wood you pick up is dead.

ebay or aquarist classifieds is a good bet , big bits of wood like that are horribly expensive in shops . i picked up this big ole chunk for the princely sum of 8 pounds on ebay

Nice find :good:

i got it for the starting price as it didnt attract any bids. im always on the lookout for nice bits of wood. can be quite hard to find as people dont tend to want to sell them . im always getting people asking me if i want to sell that piece. always reply with a polite no lol .
