Bog Wood?

Hi Rob.

I have a few small pieces laying around somewhere. PM me your address & you can have them.

Tom

No problem Trying to get a piece from a tank.

Can I ask why? You never know what might be hitchhiking on it.

I hate the tannis.after 1 day of boiling i put it in my tank. water went brown both angel fish died. And i spent over a week boiling my last piece and kept getting tannis out. so give up.

Tannins wouldnt have killed your angels, its natural...

I found this piece, smaller than I remember, bout 2x1x1 inches, but can post for a quid if you want?

Dont boil wood thats were your going wrong. The fibres in the wood break up at high temp giving off more and more tannis. Bucket of hot water left over night is more then enough, repeat for 2-4 days and it will not leach much

ive boiled 3 different pieces, mopani, bogwood and a driftwood. i never had any issues. and i usually boil them for hours. changing the water out every half hour or so. never had much of tannin release or any negative effects what so ever.

Woops cheers for that lesson learned the expensive way( binned a £15 piece of wood

No wrong way to do it just take ages for the tannis to stop. I boiled one on jan 22 and even todays water change was weak tea like colour. My shrimp love it but meh :good:
